For students who have had substantial previous exposure to algebra. The course builds on and deepens topics from Beginning Algebra (OM011) and Intermediate Algebra (OM012). Functions and their properties are studied in detail, including composition and inverses. Other topics include: understanding functions in context, the algebra of exponential and logarithmic functions, techniques of graphing, sequences and series, polar and parametric equations, the binomial theorem, combinatorics, proof by induction, and analytic geometry. Approximately half of the course focuses on trigonometry and its applications.
