If writing about an artist (and to a certain extent, if writing about a certain genre), there are many things to include in the essay aside from album/song titles, the message of a particular album/song, awards received, popularity, and financial success. I want you to dig deeper and think about things such as:
-Was there something in the artist’s childhood that shaped her/his music?
-Was there a personality trait that drove the artist to succeed or impede her/his progress?
-What adjectives would you use to describe the artist?
-What were some turning points in the artist’s life?
-What was/has been the artist’s impact on history, society, etc.?
