About Me
Hi, I'm Ryan and I'm a senior at the OHS. My favorite subjects in school are focused around languages, economics, and the arts. Outside of school, my main extracurricular activity is competitive fencing. I have been fencing for 5 years, and I currently compete as part of the United States national travel team. Once I graduate from high school, I hope to major in a field concerning either economics or finance.
What I Love About Stanford OHS
What I love about Stanford OHS is the unique social and academic experience that it provides to the students. Although Stanford OHS is an online high school, the bonds and friendships that are forged in this school are unlike any other. Everyone is nice and caring, and because of the diverse range of students at Stanford OHS, everyone will be able to find a common interest with one another. Best of all, students can come into class knowing that their opinions and thoughts are valued, and are left leaving class with the desire to learn more.
Coming from 9 years of traditional brick and mortar schools, I was initially nervous about attending Stanford OHS. I was looking for a school that could provide the academic rigor I sought while offering enough flexibility for my travels across the globe for my fencing career. Ultimately, after learning about Stanford OHS and the benefits it provides, I was confident that this was the best school for me. The flexibility and academic rigor it provides was perfect for my fencing career. Because of the online environment, I am able to attend class even while traveling. The time schedule also allows me to attend more practices in the morning and evening. In addition, the live class sessions allow for live feedback from my teachers and peers about the challenging work in each course. All in all, Stanford OHS was the perfect fit for me as I pursue my fencing career and my academics.
