Lauren Bickart

Ms. Bickart received her B.A. from Dartmouth College. It was only after several European languages, and halfway through college, that she decided it was time for something different, and began intensive courses in Chinese. Some years later, an M.A. in East Asian Studies from UC-Berkeley followed. In addition to Chinese language, Lauren is particularly interested in modern Chinese history, and in language education in American schools. She has been teaching Chinese at Stanford OHS since August 2007, and greatly enjoys introducing students to Chinese, seeing their confidence with the language grow.    

When offline, Lauren’s time goes to family, her dog Caleb, books, running, and the backyard fruit trees.
