About Me
I am currently a sophomore and this is my second year full-time at Stanford OHS. I was part-time my 8th grade year. I live outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Apart from school I enjoy playing competitive tennis, reading, and participating in volunteer work for a program called Special Populations. I am very interested in history, women’s issues, politics, and public policy. I am a member of the OHS Observer and a peer tutor for TAA.
Why I Chose Stanford OHS
I chose Stanford OHS because of the it’s reputation for academic excellence. As an 8th grade student in a private school, I enrolled in a single course at Stanford OHS. I fell in love with the course and chose to enroll full-time for high school. Stanford OHS has also allowed me to pursue my outside passion of competitive tennis. I appreciate the diversity of the school and meeting people from all over the world. It has raised me to the next level academically and I cannot wait for the rest of my journey through high school.
What I Love About Stanford OHS
I love Stanford OHS for many reasons. I enjoy the academic rigor of the courses along with the in-depth discussions prompted by my instructors. I appreciate being in class with serious, like-minded peers that share a genuine interest in learning. My instructors have been very engaging and inspiring. I have utilized peer tutors, office hours, and the writing and tutoring center routinely and have found them to be extremely helpful. I also have really loved attending in-person events as an opportunity for social engagement and to further bonds made with fellow students.
