This course provides a focused, advanced study of Latin literature divided into one semester of Roman poetry and one semester of Roman prose. This seminar-style course will include reading in unadapted Latin on a particular author or theme, contextual reading in translation, and secondary scholarship. Student assessment will include grammar quizzes, translation exams, essay components, and creative projects. The course is structured such that each semester is modular, and may be replaced or modified from year to year per instructor discretion.
