In this class, students will cultivate wellness through creative practice. The first few weeks will focus on conceptual and historical questions. (What is creativity? What role does it play in your life? How is it related to wellness? How have past theorists characterized the relationship between creativity and well-being?) The rest of the course will focus on exploring and developing creative practices. Precisely which practices will be determined by student interests, but examples may include various visual arts, music-making, cooking, creative writing, and more. Through activities, discussion, and readings, students will be encouraged to think critically about how they can become more deeply engaged creators. All students, regardless of creative experience, are welcome!
