Fundamentals of Expository Writing is a year-long course that introduces students to the nuts and bolts of critical reading and writing. Through detailed analysis of texts, students decode complex works of literature, and build on their understanding of the mechanics of the sentence to consider more abstract topics such as audience, expectation, and authorial persona. They also master the basic essay form.
