What are some accomplishments you are most proud of?
I'm really proud of the club I established, Campus Beautiful. Throughout high school, we conducted community-wide trash cleanups, we constructed a machine for collecting trash, and we aided my local high school to 3D print reusable face shields for medical workers. I'm proud of my club because I feel like I was able to pursue and apply my interest in STEM, spend time building things with my friends, and create a positive impact in the community. . More generally though, I'm proud of myself for getting through high school without burning myself out completely and also for being able to leave with some really genuine friends both at my former public school and at Stanford OHS. I feel like I have a great foundation going into college academically and socially, and I can't wait for the future.
What is your favorite extracurricular activity?
Every time I pass by a pastry shop, I get super excited by the adorable desserts on display. However, at the beginning of quarantine, it was no longer possible to go out and purchase desserts, which motivated me to try making my own. Since then, baking has become one of my favorite pastimes, offering me an outlet to relieve stress and also to make food for the people I love. In particular, I like to bake tiered buttercream cakes, tiramisu, and madeleines.
Who is the person you'd most like to meet?
Paulo Coelho, the author of my favorite book, The Alchemist.
