2023 Senior Spotlight

What is your favorite/best Stanford OHS memory?
My warmest and coldest memory at Stanford OHS occurred during the Class of 2023 Senior Trip in Monterey, California. It was here where I had a terrific time kayaking with both old and new friends. I also learned how cold the Pacific Ocean in February can be when your kayak flips because you didn't listen to your logical friend who said we were getting too close to the rocks. (I know I said I'd stop apologizing, but.....I'm sorry!!)

What was your favorite Stanford OHS course, and why?
AP English Language & Composition would have to be my favorite course. I had never been much of a humanities person, but the way Dr. Zarlengo taught this course made me excited to come to class every day and hear everyone's different perspectives on the day's reading.

What is your favorite extracurricular activity?
This might be ironic coming from an online high school soon-to-be-graduate, but my favorite extracurricular activity would have to be meeting new people! By saying a friendly hello to people, I hadn't met before at online and in-person events, I have made some of the best memories and friends I could ever ask for.

What are some accomplishments you are most proud of?
One of the experiences I am most proud of is creating the Stanford OHS Connections Club during my first year at Stanford OHS. By the end of the year, we had over 150 members in our Skype chat, and I was honored that I had been able to create a space in our online high school for people to come and simply relax, chat, and create and form connections and friendships that they might never have made otherwise.
